Final Result of DivX Create Bundle 6

    Hello folks,

Finally was able to use and get DivX create bundle 6 up and running.
I basically have 61, short 1 - 2 minute mpg2 clips (To make a long story short, I work in a video store and make these trailers so that we can play them on our TV monitors just like blockbuster, or rogersvideo here in Canada)

Placing 61 mpg2 clips authored onto a dvd-r will not fit therefore I have to delete some in order to add the newer trailers (for the upcoming newer releases) every tuesday or new release day.

Finally, the owner said to buy DivX Create Bundle and try that. Well I did, In order to fit all 61 mpg2's over the 4.74 GB maximum if I would have left it at it's original MPEG2 format.

But, by dragging, dropping and converting each one of these files and leaving it at the default hometheatre set up. (Different setups are High Def, Home Theatre, Handheld and Portable) It now has all 61 highquality mpg2 at an amazing 1.01GB's on dvd-r and... since I've made all of these trailers at 720x480 29.97fps (inlcuding our video store logo on bottom right with movie info on bottom left) I'm able to connect them all as one movie. (option given before conversions)

My question is..... phewwww.... why is the finished version on our TV's not taking up the entire screen. It's extremely high quality don't get me wrong, but rather like watcing a smaller screen (full 4:3 box) within the TV itself.

You're basically seeing 1/2" black bars on the top, bottom, left and right sides.

(Watching widescreen with the black bars on the right and left sides also)

Anyone else notice this? BTW we are playing these dvd-r's on our LG LDA 530 which plays dvix format.

Anyone know how I can encode it to play how it really should be by taking up the whole screen?

If I burn it as a normal mpeg2 (mind you I can only fit up to 50 trailers) it remains consistent and fills up the entire screen of the tv monitor.

I've tried the High Def option (fills whole screen no black bars) but that basically zooms the movie where our logos and movie info logo are cut off, you can see just the tip of these things on the bottom

Can anyone recommend another mpeg4 coverter that converts to divx format just as easily as divx create bundle 6 and have it so that it doesn't make the final product 95 smaller on the TV'S

Sorry one more question. Does any know how I make this divx movie loop?

you could convert them with Virtualdub mpeg2 or Virtualdub mod. My own personal opinion is I don't care to much for divx or it's create bundle. I like more control/settings and IMO xvid is much better then divx in speed and quality.

that's almost exactly what i said in 'qhone's other thread

it is likely that divx has got the aspect ratio messed up, or that the video needs to be cropped. surely divx create has an option to crop the sides of the video?

          Hey Guys,

I've been to http://www.xvid.org/ and it wont let me download 1.0.3 or even join to login.

Is there an XVID software just like DivX Create that will convert anyfile in one process?

I think your boss needs to give you a raise soon and a "Employee of the Year" award.

Thanks! But I'm paid very well 'cause he knows that I've basically taken all the responsibilties from taking care of the staff, bookeeping, movie ordering, you name it! I treat the store as if it were my own.

And I guess to reward me, he says what ever you need for the store, go get it and put it on the store account/credit card, within reason of course.

Just by that I get to try out all software that I need and the hardware to boot.

You can pretty much call me a computer/video editing/technology geek"slash"addict.

But yes... it is nice getting paid to experiment with new software. But anyhoo... would you know which xvid converter software you're talking about. Can't seem to find the converter like I did with DivX Create Bundle 6.

Off the topic as I sit in our office which has a big window (Anyone sitting here can see the whole floor). Our TV monitors are playing my hard work of encoding all the 61mpgs nicely coverted to divx format. Since I'm too hard on myself it just bugs me why the finished product only talkes up 95% of the 25" screens. Oh well... I guess it's better than having to play 5 trailers that are a month old continuously loop. (Supplied by Universal Pictures looping DVD)

an easy-to-use solution for encoding to xvid: get "auto gordain knot" (also known as "autogk")

                    from http://www.doom9.org

the program also encodes to divx, i think (i have only used it once, because it does not provide the advanced options i need )

extremely easy to use, and should be able to take mpeg files for input

                      Thanks, I'll check it out.

To help you guys, if you ever need advice how to manipulate video (I'd assume you already know 'cause you guys have been here for a while) otherwise if there's something you're not familiar with just ask.

From ripping, right clicking and saving clips from the net to changing it's format to using and designing your own logos (photshop cs2 and illustrator cs2) to extracting the sound from your movie whether its ripped or from your camera (Sound Forge 8 is the KING) not only does is show the audio but above each wave length is the video. perfectly matched.

When I make my trailers I rip them all apart (.mov's, .wmv's. .vob's...literally and rebuild from scratch) sound forge allows you make sure all your clips have the same volume level through an intense feature called normalize. without making the sound equal you'll have clips blarring and some hardly anything.

sometimes clips like "the brown bunny" (rated R) here in canada i had to manipulate and black out the nude scenes so that I can at least still play them on our public TV's. (Sony Vegas 6 with DVD Architect)

Some clips also has the "F" word in it that's where sound forge comes in. Because by zooming in on the sound wave form. you can mute that second of swearing and still maintain a publically viewable movie clip.

So much I have learned, if you have any questions ask.

                      Thanks again guys

I know... I tried also. Still don't know why it won't let me download anything. It says you can't join because they have too many member already.
