    Which is bettter regarding final output quality & player compatibility, DivX 6 or 5.2.1 ?

    i'd imagine they have the same compatibitily as long as you stick to the hardware player profiles, and that divx6 would *theoretically* have better quality.

    but, if you want my opinion, XVID blows them both out of the water, its better quality, faster and free

      which is better, xvid faster and better quakity. check the mpeg 4 comparison test at doom9.org

        Thnx Anonymez & Tigerman8u.There r DivX certified players in the market.Do they play all mpeg4 files( XVid etc.)?

          no they dont play ALL but most xvid files

          certain encoding options are not supported by standalone player and thus xvid avis with these options used cannot be played by many players
          (qpel/gmc for example) but most files will work fine
