    Audio gain with MPEG4??

    Hello
Im new to video excoding and dont totally understand it. I know this is for Divx but i couldnt find any other rooms to post in. Please excuse me if i get things mixed up.

I recently encoded a dvd in MPEG4 video format with nero recode so it was compatible with my ipod video. Nero recode is very good except for the fact that it softens the audio when it encodes for AC3 to stereo it (hope there's a fix soon). Does anybody know a programme that supports MPEG4 video that i can use to manually raise the volume of my movie?

what format is the audio in? there are a lot of normalizers for mp3, the best IMO is 'mp3gain', which is freeware.

for other formats, 'besweet' and 'nero wave editor' should have you covered...

      i like of mp3gain and headac3he.
      headac3he can give :wave,mp3,mp2,ac3,vorbis,aac and ac3-wave.
for my taste sounds better than besweet because use new versions of azid.dll,ac3enc.dll and lame_enc.dll
is free and easy to configure with cool normalization: http://www.ligh.de/software/HeadAC3he_0.24a13.rar

assuming the file is in the mp4 container,

use 'mp4box' (its a command line program, but you can get the gui for it called 'YAMB') http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=mp4box

like i said in my previous post, 'mp4box' should be able to do the job...

if you have downloaded 'mp4box' and 'yamb', its quite possible. see here, look under the title 'multiplex' http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mp4.htm

Yeah but with my version it just shows audio an video in one section instead of audio in one line and video in another.

that's no problem, it just means they have changed the interface so the audio and video share the same 'box'. add the video first, then the audio
