Divx problem

Hello there!
I've been trying to cut several Divx to fit into a cd but so far I've been terribly unsuccessful.
I tried AVIsplit but the image turned all red.
Now I tried Nandub and VirtualDub and it creates the file with sound but without image.All it appears is a grey screen.I seem to be doing everything as it's supposed to be and I've already installed the divx codecs again but that didn't help me from getting the same thing.
I'm quite desperate.Please help!

in virtualdub or nandub did u make the following steps?:

1) load the video
2) set audio + video to direct stream copy
3) (if u get unsynch resulting video: try audio-interleave off, works with my selfmade mpeg4v2 videos fine, but no general solution)
4) choose start + end marker (at keyframes, there is an option jump to next keyframe)
5) then save as avi, then set start marker to your first end marker and end marker to the end and save again as avi

What DivX codec version are you using?

but I had 5 installed and it didn't work either

If you happen to have 5 installed, try removing it and try playing the DivX files again.
