    XVid to DVD Bitrate Question

I have a question about converting XVid to DVD. I notice that the bitrates for XVid are quite low in comparision to DVD - One I have here is 796kbs. My question is how does this relate to DVD bitrates and can I use a lowish bitrate and still get decent quality - I could say get 2 movies on 1 DVD at a rate of around 2500kbs rather than 1 at 5000kbs.

Does this make sense or is it best to use the higher bitrate?

    Thanks in advance
A pub - ahh yes. A meeting place where people attempt to achieve advanced states of mental incompetence, by the repeated consumption of fermented vegetable drinks.

2500 is not enough for a decent DVD picture quality, anything above 3500 should be decent enough.

You can also try a tool called DIKO for multiple movie in one DVD, it will calculate the bitrate required by itself and can create menus etc + its free.
