    American Pie 2 Conversion Problems

    I am trying to encode american pie 2. I'm able to encode most of it, but near the end, the format changes from progressive to interlaced and the picture jumps a bit and you get interlace lines. Has anyone else experienced this and is there is fix for it? I tried incoding that one section with deinterlace in Flask turned on but it's still jumpy. The problem occours in the 5th file of the DVD and the skipping and the interlace switch starts at the part where sherman tells nadia that he is the shermanator.....just in case any of you have the DVD and can try it .....thanks again

    For the "problem" segment only: If you've got a checkmark in "Reconstruct Progressive Images" and the result is "jumpy" (actually "jerky" is probably more accurate), uncheck the box. If the box was unchecked, enter a checkmark.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      Don't use deinterlace with flask... it really sucks... try a filter for nb/vb it should work better.

        Hey guys,

        Just letting ya know I tried something new. I encoded the video with interlace on but turned off "reconstruct progressive images" Yes, there are some interlace problems, but at least it's not jerky anymore. I will take the problem section and instert it into the movie later. If any of you know about nandub or whatever, please send me a link to where I can get a step by step guide. I just find flask easy to use, but if there's somethign better, I'm willing to give it a try. Thanks

        -Jim

          My previous post:"If you've got a checkmark in "Reconstruct Progressive Images" and the result is "jumpy" (actually "jerky" is probably more accurate), uncheck the box."

          Your current post: "I encoded the video with interlace on but turned off "reconstruct progressive images"

          Sounds familiar ;>}

              If you want to try any other program I suggest you using GordianKnot with nadubs sbc encoding. This should work out fine. The deinterlacing is good and the quality is much better then Flask.
              You can read my guide (link in bottom) to learn if you want.
