usually no need to understand them, just enable/disable/set them as written

if you want an understanding, google 'crusty's xvid faq'

where in xvid to enable or disable those settings you mentioned

if you can't find it, i think maybe you should look for another hobby. maybe video encoding is too difficult for you, or your much too lazy to look yourself and would rather keep asking the same question and getting nowhere
