Best way for avi (tv seasons) to dvd

Hi, i am a bit of newbie, or n00b as you might type.

anyways, i have read thru your posts and i have a simple ish question that doesn;t seem t be answered anywhere i have looked.

My question is, if i have a .avi of tv shows and i want to convert them to dvd a dvd (for stand alone playing) what is the best way to do it. I currently use nero 7 to convert .avi movies into dvd's but if i do it with tv shows, which in .avi format would fill a dvd, i only get about 2 episodes per dvd.

any help would be most helpfull

    many thanks in advance

Best way is to leave them as avi's and buy an avi/MPEG-4 compatibile standalone.

Ya that would be the easy way, LOL

Other wise you may find some useful information of this thread:

Talk about the AVI file container, and the Divx/Xvid codecs that are most commonly found in AVI files

Easiest, fastest and with the best possible quality. Anything else will take longer, be harder and result in a lower quality end product. The only disadvantage of my suggestion is that it involves spending $$$'s on a new player. Definatly worth it in the end I think though.

I use a philips dvp-642 for playback, you can buy it at Wal-Mart for $55 and it plays back divx and xvid avi's great. If you want to convert the files to DVD format I would recommend VSO DivxToDVD, the free version. You can get the free version on this link. http://www.free-codecs.com/DivXToDVD_download.htm Make sure to click Download [ DivXToDVD Converter 0.5.2b - Freeware ]
