I have converted many DVDs for use on my Archos. I use several programs, uncluding DVD DeCrypter, RipIt4Me and AOA DVD Ripper. I usually tinker with the resulting DivX AVIs with DrDivX 1.06 with the DivX 5.2.1 codec. I have one DVD that always causes a crash part-way through the first pass, whether using 1 or 2-pass encoding. I've tried ripping the DVD to hard disk and encoding that but I still find that whatever program I'm using crashes. I've tried several different codecs and I've followed the guides on this site on how to remove copy protection and this seems to have been successful. In fact, if I burn the ripped DVD back to another DVD, it plays just fine. I'd appreciate any advice as to how to get this DVD on to my Archos. Any conversion to a format I could convert to MP4 later would do. I just can't get this DVD into a format I can edit.
