    MKV to Divx/Avi

Hi there, for the past few days now, ive been trying to use River Past Video Cleaner in order to convert an MKV file to divx/avi in order to play on my Divx compatible DVD player. However i have been unsuccessful as it just seems to process the sound of the file and does not process video. I have installed the matroska pack but to no avail.
Does anyone know any tips that might help me convert this file successfully?
I will be trying conversion on a newly installed PC later today - which codecs will i need to install?
    Thanks in advance

Well you would need to install DivX if you want to encode via it. For the mkv you don't need any codecs, just a splitter (Haali's or Gabest's) then decoders for whatever streams it contains.
