Accelerate video and reduce its duration

Hi! I'm new at the forum! I need some help with how doing something, something I consider easy but as I don't know much about video enconding, I had to ask here.

Could you please tell me how to make a video, accelerating it like it was FastForward? So the duration would be reduced, and the fps would be faster.

Do you understand what I mean?

Assuming the source is an AVI file, you can change the framerate with Virtualdub.
