playback Video to video copier

I'm looking for a FREE freeware/GNU GUP program that will do a live (preferably accelerated) file-to-file copy of video (A/V) files. I have quite a few 'protected' files that I want to make LEGAL backups of for use on one of my computers that has no internet access and to watch on our TV. I have the licences and paid for the media. 100% legal. Any good suggestions?

Get a DVD recorder?

You can't burn WMV protected files (that I can find). That's why I need to copy them first.
