    compressing avi/wmv/...

    hi,
i have home videos that ive uploaded to my computer and ive chopped up to like five minute videos. theyre like 300mb or so and i would like to attach them in an email but they are too big. ive thought of file hosting sights but still the download time takes pretty long. ive dl 5 min videos off of web pages on google before in like 30 seconds. what format/software do they use? thanks in advance.

home video from a standard definition(non-hd) camcorder can be captured to only be 8 MB/min without significant quality loss, but 40MB is a little too large to mail

    host them

compressing them to "streaming size" will degrade quality too much

your upload is probably a lot slower than your download

i thought about uploading to youtube and then send the url in an email, however im facing file size issues. my file is 220 mb and youtube says they only accept up to 100 mb. im using a wmv file, should i convert it to another format to reduce size?
