Does anyone know if that vp3 codec is worth looking in to??? Intel is making wild claims about it....I'm not too excited about their "vhs quality" claim...who cares about vhs quality. Divx gets you near DVD quality!

i'm trying out that vp3 codec.
Its unbelievably slow on my AMD Tbird 1.4gig.. i'm getting like 2-3 fps encoding speed.
i'm also deinterlacing and resizing to 592 x 400
but 2-3 fps is idiotic!!!
Just how good is the output supposed to be?
sounds like Intel is trying to screw AMD by making an encoder that runs good only on P4's
