2-pass will give better quality on low bitrates. On higher bitrates (2000 or more) you will not get too much difference between 1- and 2-pass.

with 2 pass encoding methods (either tool-based with NANDUB or codec based with DIVX5) you will get the best possible results and most definitely the extra time is worth your while!!

i consider divx5 with gordianknot 026beta the best solution in terms of quality and speed!

yes i did, but it is german only, since you will find english guides at doom9 anyway, though there are a couple of things i dont agree with (audio handling).

and it is divx 5.02 PRO not 5.01 (makes a difference)
