    which codec???

So what do you find best........ DivX3.11 fast / low motion then combined with MakefilmTNG or go straight from DivX5 with single / double passes?

(P.S. I'm having trouble with the double pass thing too!)

And how do you work out how large the final movie will be with the double pass job?

makefilm would be my last but choice!

if you would like to give divx3 or the original codec MS V2 a try, then NANDUB is a MUST!

the quality is better than anything else....

...except for DIVX5 with GordionKnot 0.26 Beta!

the latter produces the best quality i have seen so far!!

I whole heartedly agree. GordianKnot with divx 5.02 is the way to go for quality and ease of use. But make sure you follow the guide step by step when installing to avoid any potential problems.

Top stuff! GordianKnot is the Dogs Danglies!

          Thanks guys.

Do I still need Vob2audio for the audio rip? I can't seem to get a wav file from smartripper / DVD2AVI.

u dont need to still use vob2audio if you are using gordianknot becuase when using it you create a dvd2avi project which also extracts the audio as ac3 which can then be encoded in mp3 with gordianknot and multiplexed if desired.

also i'm not sure if gknot+divx5.02 pro is the best option even though i'll take your word uncasms. howver i will be doing my own test once exams and skool are over (finish june 19th).

i prefer the sound that v2a produces (then loaded into an audio-editor and improved a little more) over the kind of mp3 which come out of GK i.e. besweet/headac3che.

for more on vob2audio + wavelab check my guide.
the english part for ripping, audio + muxing is online now!
