How to make a AVI play backwards...

I'm currently re-editing a film and I'm wanting a section of it to play backwards. Is there anyway of doing this in Virtual Dub and if not can someone please tell me of any other way of doing it.
    Thanks.

    Rob.

I thinbk it's not possible with VD/nandub. You will have to use an other video-editor. The only way to do it in nandub is to save the video as a bmp-sequence and load them in reverse order.

Found this on the web: maybe it will help, maybe not:

Is there a filter to make my clip play in reverse?
It can't be done with a VirtualDub filter, but Avisynth has a built-in Reverse filter. Get Avisynth here
