spend some time reading this forum an you'll most definitely find answers on how to properly convert avis to vcd using tmpeg for example!

      instructions with NERO:

If the movie is less than the capacity of the CD, EG 80min (700MB) and the MPEG file/VCD file is > 700MB, NERO WILL BURN IT.

The reason is because nero uses timescale, not file size like adaptec does.

and I have tried it. Even today.

I had a 700MB CD, made a DIVX > VCD and file size was 936MB. Nero burned it cause it was < 80mins movie.

the measage that i get is erro in ecoding
all the movies in divx4 mpg
so i have to use first vurtaul dub and after that TMPEGEnc

NERO does not burn MPEG4 DIVX files as a VCD!

You must convert to VCD using TMPGENC and VCD template

          then you can burn it!

Why did u make DivX at the first time ? U shd have gone for MPEG1 (VCD) rather...

I guess any standard DVD/VCD player can't play MPEG4 (DivX)...

Write DivX (.avi) to CDR as if it's a data file (make data CD) and play it on any computer with DivX codec installed...

            Best of luck.
