    Can't extract audio from divX

I downloaded a movie off the internet and tried to extract the audio to a .wav file with VirtualDub to make a VCD out of it but it won't work! The audio was encoded with Morgan Stream Switcher. Does anybody have any idea how to extract the audio?

(Virtualdub doesn't seem to know the audio Codec, in the file information, under audio codec it says: unknown "Tag 2000". The movie plays fine though in windows media player)

    thanx a lot

    Per earlier post from Setarip:

Load the .AVI file into VDUB1.4C-AC3, setting "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying" and select (under "File") "Save .WAV/.AC3" - and save as .AC3 (IMPERATIVE to save as .AC3! - .WAV does NOT save properly). Then cut off WAV header (000-02D).

By the way, the "Tag2000" is the identifier for .AC3 - and is "unknown" to the "real" VirtualDub. The AC3-modified version is merely an unauthorized hack of the original...
    Hope this helps

in case you got all necessary codecs installed, NANDUB is the best choice for muxing/de-muxing!

why fooling around with different versions of virtualdub, when nandub handles ALL formats?

          Amen.

make sure u have the MP3 codecs installed, eg. Radium/LAME or even the new ogg vorbis codec or WMA.
