    avi to DVD files

I have a avi file that is 432X320 pix, 23 fps and 1028 kbs video. My questions:
    1. Since my source is 23 fps does this mean it is a progressive file rather than interlaced video file?
    2. I live in a country that is NTSC 29.97 fps. When authoring to dvd files should I force 29.97 fps?
    Thanks,

    AV

For more specifics, post a screenshot of the MediaInfo info. But I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you use a program like DVD Flick or FAVC if you set the output to NTSC then it will automatically use pulldown to adjust the framerate.

Generally if the source audio is DTS then FAVC may have problems. In that case I recommend DVD Flick. Otherwise either should work well. DVD Flick is multi-threaded whereas FAVC uses multi-processing. So if you have a quad core and both will do that job you may get done faster using FAVC. Both produce good output.

There are other tools also but those are 2 of the best freewares for DVD output.
