Hi,
I am dealing with hi resolution files running at 30 fps which are around 3500x1750 pixels. I have managed to create xvid files using virtual dub
that look great and playback but are very jerky on my PC. It needs to be a Video For Windows compatible file so I am making AVI's. Is it possible to tweak the encoding settings to get it to playback smoothly on my PC? The settings I use are:
Xvid - 30fps, AVi type 2 file, 20000kbps, Keyframe every 30 fps, 6 (ultra high Mot Search Precision), 1 - Mode Decision (VHQ Mode), I leave the trellis quantization on the default enabled settings. I am using a Dual Core PC with 4 GB Ram, Windows XP SP3 and an Nvidia Ge force 8800 Ultra with 768 MB Video Ram.
If XVID is not great with videos this hi res does anyone know a codec that is designed for such hi res files? Or is it a graphics card limitation?
Thanks.
