    I can't play my movies...

i recently downloaded two movies, both in an avi format. I wasn't able to play them in Windows Media Player, so i downloaded several different types of DIVx players. Whenever i try to play the movies, whether through RadLight, GDIVx, or just plain DIVx player, i only hear the sound of the movie, but i can't see the image. Why is this? I currently have Windows ME, would that have anything to do with it? Does it have something to do with my video card? I can play quick time videos of my camera, and smaller videos. But these two most recent videos havn't worked. I also try redownloaded them, but still to no avail. If somebody could please shed a little light on the subject, that would be wonderful. Thank you!

You are missing a video codec, windows media player should be nice enough to tell you which codec it's missing, otherwise load the file into virtualdub, it should give you an appropriate error message.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

      try installing:

      MSMPEG4 codecs (1,2,3)
      DIVX 3.11alpha codec
      DIVX other crappy codecs

      SMR patch codecs
