    Interesting Problem?

Can any of you people please help with this:

I have 2 computers, one is a 700mhz, 20 gig hdd and cdrw/dvd laptop, and my dekstop is a ECS Ama Motherbaord, 1.1 266FSB T/Bird, 256 DDR Ram, Herculeas TV Out AGP, 20 Gig Hdd, cd/rw drive.

    The problem:
    -----------------

When i rip a movie to my laptop it works ok and encodes ok on my laptop to divx, the playback is very good.

When i try to encode the same movie on my desktop i get different colourd pixels and lines down the display when i playback the file.

I have tried playing the movie from my laptop, but it still has lines during playback.

When i play back the encoded movie, which was done on my laptop the movie plays back on the laptop, but when i play it back on the desktop the same dots appear.

I have tried 3 Different Agp cards and divx 3.1 and 4 to no avail.

The fault must lie with dekstop as my laptop encodes them ok.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

    Thanks in advance.

Really need to know OS, DVD/DIVX Player

    OR

Welcome to the world of rebuilds my friend, give your PC a wipe and start over, piece by piece. Check how it works at each stage, then you'll identify the problem. You'll know straight away if it's a hardware fault.
