Yes. It worked! What I did was record the silent mp3 file in audacity in Stereo Mode and at a sampling rate of 48000 Hz(It was originally recorded in Mono at 44100 Hz). That did the trick!

Thanks paglamon! You made my day!

And when I pressed OK in the "Incompatible Settings" dialog box, the following messages unfolded.

It seems like a bug.I also tried and got the same error. The error log seemed to suggest that the Codec+Container is not compatible in AVIDemux. So, leave alone 3GP for now. Most of the newer phones support MPEG4-AVC in MP4 container. Why not go for that ?

I tried the resizing filter, it does not work either. Yes, as you say, most of the newer phones support MP4. I will try with that.

I have one more question. What are the file formats available for playing movies on the laptop or desktop screens apart from.vob and .avi? What format should I put my final creation in so that most people can play and enjoy it?

I find the encoding of the chopped .vob file, Y.avi is taking too long. Its almost an hour and its not yet finished. The same thing happened yesterday night as well. Prior to that, it was over within 10 minutes. Any reason why it is so?

If most people know how to use MPC-HC or VLC player, almost any format is playable. Browse through the sites of these two freeware media players and you will know.

How long is the vob file ?What are the Video and Audio encoder settings?

I guess, I can repeat the process endlessly, I mean I can append the final product Z.avi to a final clip showing credits. But will the quality degrade as I append Z.avi to another clip? Is there are a way of appending several clips simulatenously?

No degradation as long as Video and Audio are both set to "Copy".

                        You mean,with a single click ?
That is possible in Virtualdub,if you name the segments serially(e.g1.avi,2.avi,3.avi....) and keep them in a single folder.

The MP4 file did not play in the high-end Samsung Omnia Phone. But there were other MP4s that played. The following are the Media Info of the MP4 which successfully played:

The following are the Media Info of my own MP4 (which did not play successfully):

Any particular reason mine didn't play on the high-end phone? Was the bit-rate too high or any other parameter was too much to handle?

Also when I play some .3GP files in my mobile phone, it says Media parameter exceeds allowed limit. What does this mean. The video does not play.

You probably have posted Mediainfo of the same file twice. Please check. Both the files show EXACTLY same name and location and exactly the same info.

As for the 3GP file, post Mediainfo.
