    AC3 Sound In An AVI File

    Hi all.

    I downloaded a divX video file which has 5 channel AC3 sound. I installed the Nimo codec and can now watch it.

    However, I want to convert the audio to mp3 but have tried and failed.

    First I tried extracting it with a AVI-WAV proggy but that failed as the WAV wouldn't play.

    I then stuvk it in Virtual Dub and tried to recompress the audio as mp3, but that failed too.

    Anyone know how to do it?

    - open the file in nandub

    - file => save wav will demux your soundstream

    - next convert this ac3 to mp3 using besweet

      It still comes up that it can't play the wav file. But I converted it to mp3 anyway and it came out as only 13mins long and just as a buzzing noise.

        An option:

        *Save the ac3 audio

        *Convert ac3 => wav with ac3dec

        *Use VirtualDub to combine the original video (direct stream copy) with the new audio (full processing mode, compressing to mp3)
