DIVX 5 probs

has anyone got divx5 working correctly on their machine!!! tried the new version updated etc.. still doesnt work correctly and now all my divx AVI files are corrupted but will still play fine with windows media or the playa etc.. gone back to doing vob files to mpeg1 just to save the hassel with this divx shit..i dont usually ask for help but in this case someone must have it working ok, also any alternative to using flask... let the good times roll

Yes I can assure you that some people has got divx5 working ok.

I think it would be beneficial if you descriped the problems you got with divx5. What have you done ?, which guide did you follow ?.

This does not make much sense to me, how can you tell that the files are corrupt if they still play fine in wmp and the divx player ?

I have no problems with the new 5.02 DivX codec. I recently ripped Snake Eyes and I used Gordianknot version 0.26 and Nandub. (www.doom9.org).

nandub wont have done your transcoding as it does NOT handle divx5

it must have been gk 026 + virtualdub

The video encoding in gnot is done with vdub but when you select vbr audio, i believe the final audio file is muxed with nandub since vdub can't handle vbr.

er yeah guys, downloaded divx 5.1.2 or whatever seems to be working ok now, have still decided to just encode from vob to mpeg anyway makes things easier...live the dream!!!!
