    Capture probs

I found my old tv-card yesterday, a Leadtek Winfast TV 2000, and I desided to capture some .AVI of some old skateboarding.
The capturing works damn well, I capture Uncompressed frames and not a singel one drops!
Here comes the problem, the preview window and the final captured film looks like this:

I've tried all the PAL, NTSC and SECAM formats, none of them work.
This was captured from a video-8 camcoder, but I've also tried to capture from my TV, the same thing happends there.
    What is the problem?

Part of the problem is interlaced source. Other problem may be bad quality of the tapes. You should use a deinterlacing-filter while or after capturing and maybe use a lower resolution (are u capturing the video in 1024x768??).

Check that the capture card, and HD controller, are not shareing an irq, with any other devices.

I have had stuff like this, when the capture card and ide raid controller shared an irq.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

Same thing happends while I'm capture direct from the tv too, so it's not the tape. the tape has very high quality.
the capture resolution is 640X480. I thought it was deinterlancing shit too, where can i get those filters?

Thats it! (maybe) My Graphic card and the capture card are sharing the same IRQ (11)
But I don't know how to change them...anyone?

Try moving the capture card to a different pci slot, usually the pci slot next to the agp slot, uses the same irq as the graphics card.

That information was priceless. I can't thank you enough!
              IT WORKED!
There is some interlanced artifacts left though...anyone know where to get those "real-time filters"?

Are you capturing PAL or NTSC ?, if it's pal you should try the telecide filter

But to be honest I'am quite clueless when it comes to deinterlacing.

Filtering is possible if you use VirtualDUB to capture. You can do it while capturing or use a more cpu-intensive filter after capturing. While you captur uncompressed video it's better to deinterlace after the capturing. Only thing is that you have to capture with full vertical resolution (should be 576 for PAL, 480 for NTSC). I capture PAL with a resolution of 480x576 and apply a deinterlacingfilter and a resizingfilter to get a 4:3-resolution (480x360). You can use both filters while capturing but that may need some extra cpu-power.
