Need some help with conversion to divx

    Hi everyone,

I am new here. I need some help with conversion from DVD to divx.

I use flaskmepg 0.594 version right now to do the conversion, and every time I convert a DVD ripped ifo file, it will turn out to be 2GB, not 700MB. Does anyone know why?

I am using Divcodec 4.11 right now. I don't know whatelse to say really.

    Thank you.

    Hi

Have u set the correct bitrate for a 700MB DVD rip ?

What audio codec are u using ?, if u use PCM uncompressed audio, u might get these kind of results, use Mpeg layer-3 instead.
well okay uncompressed audio should only add about 600 MB

Go read some guides on how to do this

an average audio file in wave format can easily be 1200-1500mb!
adding the video stream -might- result in that kind of size.

          Still no luck!

          Hi,

I tried what you have suggested and the new conversion is still quite big, but down a 1Gb from the previous one. The video quality isn't good either, very pixely...

whatelse can you suggest me to do? I am so frustrated with this.

          Thanks again,

          SuperJ

Well from the info u have given me very little, what bitrate did u use ?, what frame size ?, with low bitrates filesize prediction can become rather poor, and naturally quality will also suffer.
With movies longer that 70 minutes I always go for a 2 cd rip.
