Quicktime Alt playback prob: Aud-Vid desynch

I thought it wud be best to start another thread rather than continuing in an off-topic one. Ok the prob is that my MPC (quicktime Alt v1.80) is not working properly lately. If I play any .mov file (be it an Apple movie trailer or a file that I created) in MPC & if I bring the cursor to any random scene position I notice that the audio-video get out of sync. This prob does not occur while playing other formats. I even reinstalled v1.78 but the prob did not disappear. I thought it was something to do with Quicktime 7, so uninstalled it to check if iMPC wud work properly but the prob remained. Is there any way to fix this ?

You have previously said it plays fine in Quicktime 7, so I don't see the problem. For MPC, just use ffdshow.

I have been using MPC+ffdshow for 2 years. The H.264 decoding option in ffdshow video decoder is set to libavcodec. The videos used to play fine in MPC earlier. I just can't recall when this started.
