AC3(DD 5.1) with every S(PDIF out???

Hi cineasters!

My friend has a platformcard with a S/PDIF out. I use to see my DivX movies on my hometheatre. My question is if every S/PDIF out can send AC3 (DD 5.1). It was bought 3 years ago. He nerver tested it. A answer is thankful before I buy a expensive coaxcable for testing.

My reciever has a decoder for dd 5.1, so it it a software thing

Anyone knowing where to buy cheap coax? (10 m)

Forgot to dement that it is a Cinemastercard (Bought 3 years ago)

well if its got a spdif output you will be able to connect it to a reciver/decoder and get the sound. doesnt mind how long ago you bought it.
and for the testing - use a regular rca cable and if it works and only then buy a good coax. ( with the regular rca you will get the sound.... not so good but enoth just t\for the testing)
