Stange problem during playback : images seem to "mix"

    Hi,

hello everybody, first post here for me. Well i've got a strange problem during playing 2 recent movies : Goldmember and xXx... If i keep all the basic WinXP codecs, with only divX 3.11, 4.12 and 5.02 installed, Goldmember plays great, no problem, but xXx doesn't have any sound. Then, i install the NIMO's pack 5.08 : xXx then plays great, but Goldmember have problem with video (the images seem to "mix", especially when the scene changes). Sorry, it's hard to describe it when english is not your mother tongue... It's just like the film goes on, but with a "ghost" of the ancient last scene last picture for a few seconds...

If you can help me, thanx a lot

Ok, some more infos : Goldmember uses XviD video codec, and MP3 LAME3.92 for audio. xXx uses divX 3 low motion for video, which is installed, and AC3 codec for audio.

Here's a suggestion. Uninstall Nimo and any other separate codecs and reinstall Nimo, this time making sure that you select ONLY DivX 3.11, DivX 5.02, XviD, and AC3 codec. That should allow you to play your video contents, and also solve the "mixing" problem.

I would suggest reinstalling the latest version of the Xvid codec. You can find a link in the Xvid->News forum here at the digital-digest.

I'am not sure if the nimo pack installs the xvid codec and which version that might be.

If you continue to have problems open the file in wmp6.4 (mplayer2.exe), and select file->properties->advanced to check which decoder filter is used for decoding the goldmember video.

I went to your page (I assume it is the "DVD Guide" link on your posting and downloaded tsunamis filterpack 3.9.6 full version and when I went to install it I got an error message saying it could not extract the file because it was corrupt. I downloaded again and tried over with the same results. Any suggestions?

Thanks, I didn't notice that. I'm only getting just over 7 MB and I've tried 3 times so far. Why is it doing this?

I'm not even sure what you mean by a 'download manager' so I guess not. I did, however, finally get the whole file on the fourth try though it did take nearly an hour even with my broadband.

Looking forward to trying it out. What are some of the changes in this version besides not Divx 5.0 codec not being used to decode Div3.

                      sorry for the inconveniance

no idea, why the server was that slow!

the filterpack includes almost any filter/codec one might possibly need for playback AND encoding.

i.e. all relevant divx and ms codecs as well as xvid + angelpotion for mpeg4/avi

it contains huffyuv, picvideo + dv codecs

all necessary audio codecs for mp3, ac3 or ogg

                      + mpeg2 playback filter + additional tools and de-interlacing-filter

imho: just about everything most users might need
