How do i block out a name on the bottom of a vcd????

Would be very greatful if someone could tell me how to block out a word on the bottom of a vcd i downloaded. The word runs right way through the film and is offputting
Can i just put a black line over it?
If so how do i do this?

For AVI's there is a plugin for VirtualDub that removes the logo by "stretching" the nearby pixels across it.
I included the program.
