No sound when playing a divx file

1) You DON'T/DIDN'T have to load another codec. You can use DVDGenie to simply register with Windows the IVIAUDIO.AX file from WinDVD.

2) Standard versions of VirtualDub cannot process .AC3 audio. For this purpose, use NanDub instead...

I have got it to play in powerDVD, the picture is fine, still no sound. Is it the file?

I tried Power DVD XP and it didnt work either so I d/loaded WinDVD 4 and it worked then
