I wonder if someone can help me, I have just bought a Sony TRV25 mini DV cam and am trying to capture footage using Premier 5 (a disc was given to me) the problem is that premier cannot 'see' my footage, when i try to record in the video capture screen i get this message 'Unable to open that file, File contains no audio or video, or is in use by another application

I thought I could get round the problem by capturing using another editing program (Ulead, Muvee) as avi files, but when i try to import the captured video from my e: drive I get the same message as above. Vegas is also unable to 'see' or support these files.
However when I capture footage using Pixela and save as an Mpeg both Premier and Vegas are able to import the clips but they are of very low quality.
Does anyone know where I am going wrong?
