    nimo codec pack

I cant really track down this 'bug' but...

I installed the ;Nimo Codec Pack 8' and now everytime I playback files media player connects to a codec server first, then a second time and only then plays the file.

In short: there always is a break between files in a playlist and when clicking a file.

This can be fixed by telling WMP to stop trying to download codecs. Open WMP then go in tools->options and deselect "download codecs automatically".

      Thank you!

      Another one!
Why does wmp hang when opening a mpeg2 file? Didnt do that before.. uninstalling wont help.

Can I somehow see what codec is in use?

WMP "hangs" because its not supposed to be able to view mpeg-2 files. Thats why you need a patch to view svcd's in WMP correctly. Can you view svcd's in WMP?

sure you can play mpeg2 files in wmp. All you need is a codec. I have done this before.. yesterday before installing the nimo codec pack for example.

"sure you can play mpeg2 files in wmp"
Yes, youre right you can play mpeg-2 files, but i was simply stating that when you download an unpatched copy of WMP, you are not able to view svcd's. Even when WMP seems to be "requesting a codec".
