cannot play back a movie!!! (black screen)

i cannot play a new movie....all i get is a blank screen with the video supposedly running and some kinnd of audio but no video....


please help.....i ve installed nimo codec pack as well as ffdshow codec....also i checked the file in g-spot and it says the codecs are installed and the video should play fine.......the video is a dvd version of a movie..... PLease help!!!

1. Load up the AVI file into GSpot and post a screenshot of the information displayed here.

Alternatively:
1. Open the file in Virtualdub
2. Go to File -> File Information
3. Post what information you see here

Problem solved!!!

i removed nimo codec pack.... and installed 3ivx codec from 3ivx.com and that solved all problems....

Any1 who has a problem viewing divx videos .....follow these steps

1) Uninstall Nimo Codec pack(it causes all sorts of problems)
2) Install 3ivx codec pack .
3) Use Bsplayer to play ur videos ....its the best player around.

i never had any film that didnt play despite the fact that i DONT have 3ivx installed - thus there are other solutions

ya absolutely!!!

ya there sure are other solns around but as far as i know the nime codec pack causes a lot of problems.....

anyways i got one more prob

i downloaded a new movie and even with the volume turned to full there's no sound to that particular movie...i'll post a g-spot pic abt it.


in general also the volume of movies is far too low than it is for other songs etc.

why is it so....any sound enhancers or boosters available???

according to the screenie you're missing an ac3 codec

downlaod tsunamis filterpack 399 from my page, install it with custom routine and all defaults checked and try again!

why is it so....

because too many idiots create lousy rips and worst of all share them

normalized and amplified sound streams with decent routines are unknown to many users!
