    Truncated avi file

    Hi
I have a movie that GSpot reports being truncated (36.1k missing) coded with DIVX 3 fast-motion.
I tried to view it with Winamp - doesn't work, WMP - same. It works with BSplayer but I can't make FFWD or anything, it just plays normally (or at least I think so - I saw only the first 10 minutes ) from start to end.

Now, is there any solution to repair the file (it doesn't open in Vdub or anything else)???

    THX

You can not FFWD because the index bloc (located at the end of an avi file) is missing.

"(it doesn't open in Vdub or anything else)??? "
is this a question or a statement?
    if it's a question:

Open the file in VirtualDub (or VirtualDubMod), but check the <b>'popup extended open options'</b> in the open dialog. In the extended open options check <b>'re-derive keyframe flags'</b>. Wait for re-parsing and rebuild index block.
Video-direct stream copy, Audio-direct stream copy, File- Save as avi.
