    Audio is telephone quality

Ive got a load of Divx AVI's but only one (red Planet) plays with perfect audio, I checked it in vdub and its at 44100hz. The others i have are all 48000hz and the quality is really poor, why is this????? is my sound card pony?????

Here is a quote is took from Nicky's pages, maybe this is your problem also:

Because many sound cards cannot handle 48000 Hz very well you may find that any method you use to extract the sound will give a fairly dull sound output. This can be prevented by converting the audio to 44100 Hz in VirtualDub
So just convert the sound to a samplingrate of 44.100 Hz should do the trick

    Maybe .................maybe not

Anyway it is worth a try

The cheapest models (20 euro) from terratec or soundblaster work perfect. I had some problems with onboard-sound.
