    Codec Problem

    Hi I have a AVI file that will not play I have WindowsXP and Media Player 8 the AVI Property say that the Audio format is MPEG Layer-3 and the Video Compression is DIVXMPG4 V3. can anyone tell me what codecs I need to download?

    you will need divx3 and an mp3 codec (like the radium release)

      That didn't work

      I went and downloaded the codec but it still didn't play. the codec I downloaded only worked with quicktime due to no media player version avaible. I downloaded quicktime and installed the codec and I still didn't get anything

        lol why quicktime???

        did u get that all right?
        1) download and install divx 3.11 alpha
        2) download and install divx 4.12 bundle (and say no when asked to play divx 3 content with 4.12)
        3) download radium mp3 codec: how to install: it is a zip file, just open it with winzip, no need of dezip, just start the application: with the next button u can navigate through the installation

        with these codecs this damn video should work *g*
