Massive problems w/ XP, and bicubic resizer!!!

I've successfully viewed DivX movies with ME, but I just upgraded to XP pro. Now, for some reason, the default video codec seems to be the bicubic resizer, which flips everything upside down!!! I have tried many things, including reinstalling my codecs (the Ace & Nimo packs) and switching players. Windows media flips things w/ bicubic resizer, real player works for about 10-15 minutes then freezes sometimes, the Playa isn't exactly perfect, and PowerDivx NextGen has the same problem as WM!! I would be greatly indebted to anyone who can help me out/point me in the right direction here, as viewing movies has become quite difficult. Thanks!

this problem has been talked about before.
