    Very strange AVI file.

I have downloaded a movie from a P2P software (overnet) and now I can't play it. No software recognizes it as a "valid format" and I've downloaded every codec I could get my hands on and tries all kinds of different players. Then I downloaded a few AVI Fix programs from this site and they give me an error that the file is an "invalid avi file" or "not an avi file". Does anybody know what is going on? Please help me fix this, it took me almost a week to download.

I agree with setarip. Alot of fake files on p2p. You could load the file in Avicodec or Virtual dub and look at the file info.

Can play on Kazaa Theatre but not on any other media player

I have a avi file also that can only be viewd on Kazaa Theatre. When I first open it, with Quicktime, it couldn't be open so I tried with WM and I was able to view it. I closed the file and returned to it a few hours later. But surprise surprise, WM could not read it anymore! So I tried with other softwares like RP, Quicktime, Irfan, Gspot, Divx etc and they all tell me that they can't identify it. Gspot says it is not a valid avi file. So what gives? What can I do so that I can view on a media player other than Kazaa Theatre?

            Any help would be appreciated.

            THanks
