    This may either directly or indirectly satisfy your needs:

    Read about the program

    Download the program

    Let us know of your success ;>}

          Pleased to hear that the suggested software "fills the bill".

          As far as converting .ASF to .AVI, download the modified VirtualDub v.1.3-ASF from the DivX Digest site (sister site to this forum and DVD Digest and Digital Digest)...

                "VirtualDub Error

                You didn't read very carefully:

                "download the modified VirtualDub v.1.3-ASF"

                Go to:

                OR

                    Both v.1.4c-ASF adn 1.3c-ASF work perfectly for me. Have you copied into the directory ALL of the other files and plugins from the STANDARD version of VirtualDub (other than VirtualDub.exe, of course)? The executable, by itself, is virtually useless.

                    If 1.4c-ASF still doesn't work for you, then try the second url I've listed (Don't get grumpy;>})...

                      VirtualDub is a terrible program to use; if the ASF file is not perfect it'll complain to no end. I've downloaded over 50 ASF files from the net, and VirtualDub would only encode about 3 or 4 of them without complaining.

                      Try TMPGenc, its never complained for me and does quite a quick job of it considering all the decoding it has to do. Output can also be MPG or AVI - you can download from the Download section on Digital Digest.

                      If this doesn't work for you either, try Micro$oft's GraphEdit, apparently it can do it although I'm not sure exactly how.

                      Hope this helps.
