    How to convert a encrypted asf-file into avi?

    I recently downloaded a gig that was recorded in ASF-format. It was free, but it had a license thingy protecting it. The problem here is that the lisence itself isn't valid anymore and for some reason (encryption?) I can't convert the ASF-file. I have already tried a program called FreeMe that should strip the file of it's protection but it didn't work.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Its almost impossible to convert asf but I would try TMPGEng.

          If TMPGEnc doesn't work you may try Virtualdub v 1.3 (visit the divx-digest.com guides for specific information).

          Alternatively, you may use a screen capture software to conver the asf file to a format of your choosing, Camtasia and Snag-it.
