    What does it mean when.....

I can play back a burned copy DVD on my PC (w/ powerDVD) with no problems at all, but when playing the same DVD on my standalone DVD player, I either get serious pixelation or the disc will not play at all.

Are both my standalone players to old to play DVD +R discs or what am I missing here?

    Thanks for your time.

If your standalones are old, you can improve compatibility changing booktype in +R media to ROM.

      What burner do you have?

And what media do you use? Sometime also a bad media can cause this problem.

Thanks for the replies. I think my next move will be to swap out my current Samsung DVD burner for my older Sony DRU-710a burner which has bitsetting. If it is my standalone DVD players causing the problem would this solution help?

you have 2 players with the problem that are older models. i'd try another media before changing devices.

Yeah, I could switch to -R's, but 1) I already have the Sony burner just sitting in my extra HW pile 2) it seems to be a better burner anyway.....why not switch it out?

Too bad there are tons of fake taiyo yuden on stores. Maybe your media are fake taiyo, so can give you these playback problems

Usually authentic Taiyo have a number code in internal part of the disc that start with GG or GD.
