    convert .avi to dvd (vob) choppy...

    i used winavi for alot of avi's that i have on the computer. they all play smoothly. when i convert to dvd, the playback is choppy. i think this happens when a few other program, can't remember. i tried to changes almost all settings with no luck. i once tried tmpg plus, the remaining time was like four hours or something. winavi takes only one hour and ten minutes usually. but yeah, it's choppy all the time. any ideas?

        i'm trying out tmpgenc and i'm looking at it right now. remaining time is over 5 hours. is that normal? it's going very slow. also, i just stopped it to view the movie... no more choppyness but there was no sound and the mpg was brighter than the .avi... any ideas?

        Video size: 640 x 480
        Video: XVID 640x480 29.97fps 999Kbps [Video 0]
        Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 48000Hz stereo 192Kbps [Audio 1]

        then when test converted;

        Video size: 720 x 540
        Video: MPEG2 Video 720x480 (4:3) 29.97fps 6717Kbps [Video]
        Audio: MPEG Audio 48000Hz stereo 384Kbps [Audio]
        Subtitle: DVD Subpicture [Subtitle]

            raise the directshow file reader as explained in here.

            use the screenshots in there for the settings, make sure motion search precision is set to "fast".
