DivX Newbie needs help

I have installed the Codec 3.11 Alpha and BS Player, but when I open BS Player to run a video I get a message window "Unknown file format (DivX)".

What can I do to play movies?

I am running Windows XP.

I've always had problems with BSPLAYER. First try, WMPG 6.4 or GDIVX.

Maybe you need an other version of DivX (4.xx/5.xx).
