ac3 codec = side effect makes kazaa audio go wah wah weird

I've had this prob for a while and my temp solution is to rename ac3audio.ax in c:\winnt\system32 to ac3audio.ax.old and only rename it on the very rare occasions that i wanna play a movie with ac3 audio. I used the latest nimo codec pack to install it and it works fine for playing back a divx with ac3 audio. The thing is when you then play an mp3 from kazaa it uses ac3audio.ax to playback the mp3 and you get this weird accompaniment sound a bit likr 2 coconum shells being banged togther in the background. If I rename ac3audio.ax then it reverts to using l3audio.ax (frauhoeffer) as i wish it to (used taskinfo to see what modules loaded to track it down) . Anyone got a solution for this. the frau codec has priority 1 but the ac3 codec doesn't appear in the normal list, though i can see it by using dxmanager from analogx

(i checked prev ac3 posts but could see nothing regarding this)
