downloaded avi with black screen

Just downloaded a avi off kazaa, but when i come to play it al i get is a black screen, but the timer still runs.

the file info from virtual dub is
Frame size 352x144 8.000fps (125000)
# of frames 21773 (45.21)
decompressor uncompressed RGB1
number of key frames 21773
min/avg/max/total key frame size 6336/6336/6336 (134721k)
min/avg/max/total delta frame size on delta frames.

Please can someone tell me this is watchable somehow as i have d/l a 135mb file on a 56k dial up for nothing lol

Looks like you just downloaded 135 MB of nothing but black screen.

The video stream is uncompressed (just to take up more space, to make it look good).

At 8fps, the 'movie' is hardly watchable. And 135MB of uncompressed video won't last long. I'm sorry to say that you have downloaded a fake file. Cheer up though. 135MB isn't much. You can download more than that in one night.

thanks, had figured it out by using a hex editor and seeing that it was full of nothing,



now if I could just get people to stop sharing it.
