MPG Playback

I have an mpg video playback problem after a reboot i can view any mpg video file but if i try and load a different video or the same video after i have shut the player down they will not play only after a reboot

what happens when you try? error message? what about other file types?

black screen

I get sound with a black screen or on some players i get a small triangle of the picture in the upper left corner

which player? sounds like it's using overlay mixer and isn't getting closed properly

start by updating directx and graphics card drivers

Still the same, using Power DVD, Real, and Nero

try media player classic, set vmr in options-->output
