Problem with AVI conversion

I'm converting several AVI files with WinAVI Video Converter. Software informs that all files that could be seen on Windows Media Player can be converted. The files came from the same source and some can be seen on WMP and converted; other cannot! WMP does run at all and shows a black screen. Dou you have any clue to solve this problem?
Information from some files:
File 1 (WMP->OK; WinAVI->OK): 304 MB, 1015 Kbps, 23.976 fps, resolução 624*352 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
File 2 (WMP->not OK; WinAVI->not OK):310 MB, 1043 Kbps, 23.976 fps, resolução 608*336 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
File 3 (WMP->not OK; WinAVI->not OK):312 MB, 1039 Kbps, 23.976 fps, resolução 608*336 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported
File 4 (WMP->not OK; WinAVI->not OK):316 MB, 1041 Kbps, 23.976 fps, resolução 608*336 (16:9), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported

I doubt that u will get any help from this forum regarding the software u r using for conversion.What do u wish to convert ur AVI to?Maybe we can suggest alternative programs which really work.
